Overpaying for Teo in term just means we’ll have a Springer contract we’ll be stuck with. This isn’t about saving Atkins and Shapiro’s job. This about what to do for the Jays long term. If they don’t get anyone, it’ll suck but I’ll respect the clowns for not jeopardizing the Jays future. If they sign Teo long term to DH and say sign a marquee pitcher, while not addressing the rest of their lineup I simply won’t be happy. There are a ton of holes to be filled and that has to be done with good drafting and good trades. You can’t be lazy and fill through free agency and I don’t think they’ll offload Bo or Gausman to get numerous pieces back, but we’ll see.

I am very open minded person that is empathetic and tries to see different perspectives. I try to justify Atkins and shapiro through thought.... it's not really working...

No I agree they are not a championship team. Let me clarify. But what is the direction. Sign another under performing vet? In belt turner (short contraxr lower risk) Let bo and vlad walk? Take low risk approach with them so far might lead to them walking. Oh we are a big market team we don't have to sign extensions. Aka we dont want to pay their price right now might take risk later There is alot to my thought.

Just take some action. Low risk gm . Afraid to sign Bo and vlad early pony up. Signs statically low risk player . Sure these are wise decisions in own right. It's good long term planning hey we have no bad real bad contracts on book.

I love Teo. My brain is convoluted trying to explain Atkins and shapiro. I just don't think their good no matter what way I think about it. Trying to justify their thoughts. Maybe it is their player evaluation model? We are not winning but I don't want to see some loser vets (belt turner kierrmeer) here and bo and vlad walking which is looking like it is going to happen. I also love Teo in feel he will produce and has produced and in short term will produce. We went downhill when he left

The gms i mentioned above take some gambles on high risk high reward players make bold trades to win. That high risk. Better evaluation.

Make sense?

Rereading your post what it boils down to. We both don't like Atkins. It's evaluation of Teo. Yes I agree don't jeopardize future. Cost with Teo too. We will see
