I used a KVM switch at my setup in Seattle and I have a Dell 34" ultra wide at my condo in Scottsdale that has built in KVM functionality.
I much prefer the KVM switch as it's simply one button. The Dell monitor requires a couple clicks and a scroll through the on screen menu using the toggle switch on the back of the monitor. The switch is just so more convenient to use. It's a total first world problem, but a mildly annoying one.
