I wasnt sure if I should start a new thread or not, so i'll try bumping this and seeing what happens.
I am looking for advice on career counselling. I am an unemployed IT technician (specializing in Desktop support/intermediate server) who recently tried to go down the IT Business Analyst path. Since moving back to Alberta 2 years ago (and having to leave my position in BC) I have nothing but trouble trying to find stable employment. Talking with people during interviews and following up after getting rejected, I am in a weird spot where I am over qualified for Tier 1/2 support positions, and not enough real life experience in BA work.
The market has left me feeling completely vulnerable, insecure, and terrified on the future. I don't know if I even want to do IT work anymore based on the lack of roles and my lack of having recent and relevant certifications.
I am struggling with deciding what new career path (if any) to go down and would love to talk to a professional to help forge a path forward.
With my EI quickly running out, I am desperate to do a few things:
1: find employment really of any sort to pay the bills
2: discuss with a professional about a potential career change.
3: secure some stability.
Any advice is welcomed and encouraged.
