I love Gangs of New York because it is a colourful snapshot into 19th century life. A pet peeve of mine is that historical fiction movies are all grey scale and brown. People in the 19th century dressed in gaurish colour, anything from that period should be blindingly colourful. it's us,in 2024 who are obsessed with shades of gray.
