But it's stupid. I don't like the ghost runner at 2nd either. I understand not wanting to have games to all night and ruin pitchers (who throw less and less innings, decade by decade), but how about ghost runners start in the 12th or 13th inning.
All for modernizing game where required, pitch clock has worked out. But turning it into a video game reward is silly.

I like the runner at 2nd. It makes extra innings more small ball and changes the strategy, which I find entertaining. And the pitch clock/face 3 batters rules are unambiguous benefits, imo.
Golden batter seems a bit too far to me. My biggest concern would be if you give the top tier batters an extra at-bat per game that makes all the single-season records incomparable. 60 HR will become 72 HR with an extra 20% at bats. I agree at minimum you'd need to make that the "Golden boys" final play of the game, but probably that still means Ohtani/Judge take the last at-bat of every regular season game.
