The golden at bat thing is interesting, yet not great from a traditional standpoint. Part of building a good lineup is to have good 1 through 9 hitters so any situation you're a threat to the other team. To suddenly introduce a one off, I'm not sure I agree with. Maybe in extra innings, but games don't last long in extra innings anyway. It's a team sport - I'm not sure why they have to make the best factor in more. To me it's just odd as it messes with the tradition of the sport in many ways.
On another note Aroldis Chapman has sign with Boston for $10M. Kinda indicates Boston may be going for something. As well it may also not bode well for Romano if teams weren't willing to take on $7M but would take on Chapman for $10M.
