Kadri is probably not a top six centre in the last couple years of his deal. And the teams he’d waive his NMC for are all contenders facing serious cap issues going forward. Paying a 36 and 37 year old Kadri even $4.5 mil a season to play in their bottom six would be a major problem for the Leafs or Avs.
