That's 7 straight losses on the road now by my count.


They just can't will victories. At some point, the lack of talent becomes apparent, and this team is obviously suffering from that. That's ok - this is a rebuild, even if the Flames refuse to acknowledge it outright. The glaring cap space and the accumulated futures in the bank show us that, and honestly, there is no more arguing against the notion that a rebuild is the only way forward here left. This isn't (and won't be) scorched earth, but this is a multi-season rebuild, and that's ok.


Flames are going to look amazing with a starting lineup to open the new building:


McKenna - McQueen/Misa - Honzek (or take your pick)

Parekh (righty, I know) - Dupont
Wolf

In all seriousness, the Flames draft well, so this not only gives me hope, but assures me that losses like tonight's won't be for naught. Look for ways to enjoy the action during these losses, or it is going to feel like a terribly long season. Most of the losses have still been fun to watch (at least for part or moments of every game).
