No one is talking about keeping players because of sentiment. The human element people were talking about was keeping good older guys around for a bit, in order to give the younger guys a base to work from. Vegas and Florida made hard trades of established guys but they also didn't burn everything to the ground.

And the Florida trade wasn't about getting rid of older players just because. It was about them wanting Tkachuk that badly.
