I think there are guys that Connie brought in with the intention of getting them ice time and minutes to sell off. Those guys are bean, barrie, kuzmenko and mantha. But his more likely move at this point is to start weaponizing the cap space the team has as none of them have really done much to improve their value (imo). Maybe someone like Pelletier or Poirier.. (a team with poirier, parekh, and Brzustewicz making the team in the next couple years seems like a team with too many offensive defensemen).
Anderson could get a lot in return for sure, but not only would it decimate the defense, it would hurt the morale of the team by trading him (arguably their best player this year) away for assets that don't make an impact now, when the team is performing well.
I get it, christmas is coming, we all want shiny new toys - but ... if we get one, I doubt we move Anderson, or really any roster player making an impact right now.

Agreed.
I think Conroy places a high value on players who want to be here. We’ve heard Andersson wants to compete for a cup, which is fair and, likely, what must players want. If it’s not 1 on the list, it’s probably 2 or 3.
That said, I think the Flames are like saying to Andersson ‘let’s just see how this season goes’. If the Flames are competitive for a playoff spot by years end and Andersson can see a path to being competitive, he may open the door, more so, to resigning.
At this point I think it’s 75/25 Andersson stays here the remainder of this year. Short of him asking out or a team giving them an offer which would include a high, top 10 pick, or a can’t miss prospect, I don’t think the Flames are ready yet to move him.
This offseason, it might get a little more interesting. Similar to last year, I don’t think they get beyond the TDL without an extension or a trade.
