Huberdeau is unquestionably terrible value. If the Flames were able to dump his contract today, they would do so without hesitation.
What I don't agree with is the claims that he isn't trying. I think he is giving it 100% effort out there in every zone. I also love the way he hasn't hid from the media, or made excuses, or sulked, or any of those things. Good on him for continuing to do his best, bringing positive energy to the team, and apparently being one of the good leaders out there.
I dislike his contract relative to the returns it brings the Flames, but I can't even start to dislike Huberdeau the human being in any way.
