People are really sensitive to gas price. It doesn’t make sense but they are.
Since this Tarriff is really about a problem that doesn’t exist - Canadian Fentanyl into the US and illegal immigration from Canadian entry points into the US it will be an easy one to give Trump a win on immigration and drug smuggling. You just say you are doing something about it, hold a press conference and call it a day.
And if he puts in Tarrifs you respond with maximum economic destruction counter tarriff and stopping exports.
