He was one of the top scorers in the league from 2018-2022. He got paid accordingly. Since arriving in Calgary, he's been more of a $4-6 million/year guy. if he had a $5 million/year contract, we'd all be pretty happy with how he's played.

A player who gets 1st line minutes and PP1 and gets 50 points is killing the team, as his usage requires quite a bit more production.
A player who gets 50 points playing 2nd line miners with occasional PP time is an asset worth $4-6M.
But if Huberdeau is moved off of PP1, his points will plummet.
