I second this.

Other shows I'd recommend

The Wire -- very immersive. Almost like a novel unfolding in front of your eyes. It follows the lives of police, criminals and their families/friends in the city of Baltimore.

The Sopranos -- I'm sure you know what its about. Amazing television.

The Shield -- very gritty, raw drama about corrupt cops

The 4400 -- 4400 people are returned from being 'abducted' all throughout histrory. None of them have aged and day and remember nothing of what's happened to them; strange events ensue.

Entourage -- Light, entertaining fluff but strangely intriguing. Its like Maxim magazine on television.

Arrested Development and/or The Office -- my favourite comedies. Hilarious!
