Oh believe me. She can tell. She doesn't know what she's tasting, but she knows if they're different and if she likes them or not. She's no sommelier, but she's really accurate for things she likes/doesn't like. The average person isn't remotely close to the accuracy she has for stuff like this. Even me. She frequently identifies some of my food as being "different... but still tastes good" if I've made an ingredient swap, forgot/added ingredient or Maillard reaction is slightly different. It's kinda crazy.
She would never be able to figure out which was which and she'd probably say she likes both. But I'd have a heck of a time convincing her incorrectly if two unlabeled cups in front of her had identical coffee or different coffee.
