People who are saying he won't get $10M on his next contract given his play this year isn't as good as it was last year are forgetting that they also have Nurse on the team making $9.25M per year and Bouchard's agent is 100% going to use that as leverage to make sure Bouchard is paid more.
He also has arbitration rights so I doubt he takes another short-term bridge deal for less money. He might not get $10M in arbitration depending on how the rest of the year goes, but he's likely getting a significant raise next year regardless.
