But I think Conroy (and mostly Murray) want Calgary to be as competitive as possible, so is willing to risk taking a young player that has shown great promise in the past. Let's face it, if Cozens was still scoring 70 points he wouldn't be available. If Calgary wants a young centre, and they clearly do, this may be the only way to get one. And thanks to Wolf, the draft doesn't look promising to get that much needed centre these days.

I get that, but we also have 2 awful contracts on the books right now for 5 and 7 more years. It's a big risk to add a 3rd one. Never mind the ice time you have to give the player.
