I'm not talking about cooking specifically. I cook pretty much every meal from scratch, but it is easier for me because I mostly work from a home office and don't have to add commute time often. My wife though, gets up at 5 AM and usually doesn't get home until 7 PM. If she was a single parent, I don't think it would be an option for her. And there are a lot of families where this is an issue for both parents (or single parents).
I'm talking about having to go out and get fresh ingredients. A lot of people can only find time once a week or every two weeks to buy food, and perishable items often don't last that long. They also have to buy in bulk to save money.
