My American bosses would laugh at the suggestion they are more ethical, its actually a running joke that is why we take 4 times longer and 4 times more $$$ than anything down there does.

Anyone who has been involved in a SAGD project in AB and SK knows Alberta oil is more ethical (or at least more regulated). Recycling the water over and over again isn't something producers do to increase profits.
