People just need to get the McDick out of their mouths long enough to see what else is happening in the sport. It's literally the laziest move of all.
You can write a Pulitzer-worthy piece on some behind the scenes aspect of the NHL, uncovering long forgotten secrets through years of research and investigation... literally the journalistic piece of a lifetime... the piece of work you're going to be remembered for for years to come...
But some schmo with an iPad will post two paragraphs about Mcadavid's heated driveway and it will dwarf your story within minutes, in terms of traction and attention.
It's really maddening when you think about it. Sometimes I feel like Buscemi straddling that nuke on the astroid... all I can do is just sit here and watch while the planet gets more and more stupid as the years go on.
