Talent is no good if the player isn't committed to using it a lot. There was an article in the Athletic about why Mogilny isn't in the HHOF, and the suggestion seems to be that as talented as he was, and despite the seasons he put in, he could have done a hell of a lot more if he felt like it.
Whether those narratives are true or not, they still exist in team sports.

Sure, but it's not like I'm saying trade Zary for him. I'm just saying don't be diametrically opposed to the possibility of adding him. Though he may be heading towards Pierre-Luc Dubois toxicity territory, he could also turn it around. There's a point where betting on the talent becomes worthwhile.
Even Alexandre Daigle had three 50 point seasons.
