When you think about the vastness of the universe, if there were intelligent civilizations that mastered light speed travel, it would still take them millions of years to get here. Alien civilizations maybe existed billions of years ago. Or will exist billions of years from now. Or maybe then even exist right now, but they are too far for any contact. Even Andromeda is 2.5MM light years away.

It's a fun exercise.
I mean, you assume that Light Speed travel is the only advanced form of travel for aliens? We don't know what we don't know.

And I say that as a non-believer.
