Yeah, the science behind the scripts of the OT really isn't complicated. As with many stories, it borrows heavily from the hero's journey narrative.
Problem with the PT is there is too much pointless #### thrown in that doesn't add to to the core arc. PT had too much context and exposition that was largely uninteresting.
The ST didn't know what it was, broke or just redacted the rules established by the prior films, and picked up and put down plot threads because of the terruible lack of a cohesive plan. The characters didn't undergo much of any sort of meaningful evolution through trials or adversity outside of maybe Finn breaking free from the shackles of the order and defeating his former conmander. The rest were just going through the motions and while acting like they had a wholesome bond to one another without earning it because they constantly split up over the course of the movies and did virtually nothing together lol. In retrospect, it felt a lot like if you asked chatgtp to write a star wars trilogy. Kind of just threw a bunch of star wars elements in and churned out this clusterf### of nonsense.
