I don't think anyone is saying the loss is the fault of the progressives, what everyone is saying is the US is never going to vote for a progressive candidate and progressive policies are poison in an election (even the ones that poll well)
Harris could have won the thing, she came out of the gate well, made a decent VP pick went ahead in the polls and was fund raising well, at that point if she had some simple popular policies and some kind of personality she would have won, but she has the personality of a hamster and her only real policy was she wasn't Trump and in the last month that killed her
