In the past 3 days I've had enough conversations with Canadians that could be summarized along the lines of;
*Trump was treated pretty unfair with the amount of time they spent trying to charge him with stuff.
*At least now the economy will be better
*He's not serious about the stuff he said he wants to do
*The democrats didn't do anything the past 4 years, so now maybe something will get done
And the real kicker;
*Now we can stop the environmentally harmful stuff like wasting money on windmills that only last a couple of years. (never mind the fact that the US government has nothing to do with windmill installations in Alberta). But where to people hear this ####, and how do they possibly believe it?
I guess the moral of this that people are so low information, and have absolutely no desire to become more informed to the point that being better isn't good enough. You have to give people who literally couldn't care to source good information a simple narrative that they can latch onto, and what Trump has taught us is you can flood the zone with simple narratives, and people will latch onto whatever one they want to, true or not.
