Surprising that Treliving didn't use the same strategy with Necas who by all accounts had a tonne of talent but hadn't put it altogether yet.

Conroy talked about one of the deals on the table for Tkachuk being futures-based, but the Flames’ braintrust didn’t want to go the rebuild route. I’m assuming he was referring to the rumoured Canes offer.
