Well there is only enough housing, health care resources, jobs, etc to go around.
I don't think we should have a problem with taking in people looking for better opportunity that are willing to work hard to make things work. Which most people probably are coming to Canada.
My problem and everyone's problem for that matter is we don't have unlimited resources for all those people. So we're not exactly accomplishing much if we bring economic prosperity in Canada down on average by too much immigration of any kind.
