I’d argue that Biden’s early refusal to not run again and a lack of primaries for the democrat candidate played a much larger role in the results. Had Biden allowed for a proper campaign and for the democrats to see how unpopular of a choice Kamala really was during a primary they could have put a better candidate in her place.

This is exactly it. A lot of people were turned off by the fact that she did not have to get the people’s vote in the primary to get the candidacy.
Her choice of VP was a huge mistake as well. Walz showed poorly to swing voters and did nothing to energize the base. Colossal mistake not to pick the Pennsylvania governor and pick up votes in a key battleground state.
