Nope. The Flames were a couple of playoff series away from going on legit runs. That's where the majority of NHL teams end up, with the Montreal/Buffalo/Detroits clearly on a tier below and the Tampa/Vegas/Colorados on a tier above.
Being a Flames fan was far from easy, but a huge step up from watching the team finish 1-10 from last for a decade. If the Flames had managed the assets they had better, like Bennett, and done a better job of signing complimentary UFA pieces, they likely get pushed over the edge and win a couple more playoff series. Big difference between that and the teams that lose straight for 10+ years.
