I think that was the diamond era of film, those 30 years. So good in fact they decided that they needed to remake them all.
We're just getting cookie cutter platitudes now. Even in horror.
I mean there's not a ton of room for ingenuity any longer but at least try. I think that's the draw for A24 films, they're trying.

I go to Apple TV to see the top movies of the week and at number one it's Wolfs. I saw it but it was so forgettable that I haven't even bothered to post about it. Big budget cinema has amounted to largely a lot of forgettable films with creativity sapped out to make the product as safe as possible.
