Typically, when I was scheduling trials a major holdup was the availability of the police officers. They have actual police work to do, but many appear in court fairly frequently too.
But I thought any half witted person could decide this case based on reading what a few reporters have written?

Why are these witnesses, documents, evidence, lawyers etc. need to get involved?
