I've been saying all season that Soto is a possibility the Jays should look into.
Early in the year when Yanks were in SD he basically said he has no loyalty anywhere and will go where he's paid the most.
He's won a WS. He wants to extract full value for his services; as do most players but he's seemingly much more overt about it.
Jays need a marquis name, especially after last offseason and this year, nevermind needing a bat. Fellow Dominican with Vlad never hurts.
Can the Jays offer the most? Maybe. Can the Jays do a severe overpay? Yes. Will the Jays do a severe overpay? Maybe.
Point is, Soto doesn't seem to care where he plays as long as he's paid very very well. That bodes well for Toronto, as they aren't off the list being in Canada, right away as it is for others.
Still prime years, still clubbing the ball as he has to this point in his career.
