Liljegren is a useful player but he's just another 1st round pick that hasn't lived up to his potential. Same draft as Valimaki and similar results. He's just a victim of being overhyped as all Leafs players are. A 3rd round pick is a decent return and as said above to Treliving nothing but currency burning a hole in his pocket likely used to add a depth defenseman or 4th liner for the playoffs. Also not a bad move for the Sharks to see if he has more to offer as this is the kind of player that was never going to thrive under Berube.
