You're not wrong at all, but there is a give-a-damn-meter for every player on the ice in any level of hockey that should be at a certain level. Mantha, for instance goes from green to red over the course of 10 games (as do a lot of players) and a guy like Huberdeau seems to fluctuate within the game itself. A guy like Kirkland comes in with it off the charts initially and now it is settling back to the norm.
It's all moot anyway as this team is destined for a top 5 pick this year. How they get there is pointless IMO. As a collective group they are clearly not just rolling over, but at some point if these huge losses continue, they definitely will.
