I'm no pumper of any one particular medium or podcast, but I just don't get this. It's a Presidential candidate talking unfiltered for over an hour to an audience of millions. That can take many forms. More and more newscasts are short 10 min spots where everyone just try to get a few sound bites out and they move on. 20-30min interviews are billed as big deal exclusives. Meanwhile someone can actually listen to someone speak free range for an extended amount of time and that's viewed as dumb?
Honestly, Trump is the one that exposes himself in that form, I think. Anyone that will willing sit through that without coming to the conclusion of "clown" is lost already. But some people don't get that full piece of him because they're being fed a catered version of both candidates by a propaganda machine. And these hosts are a lot of things, but they're not actual corporate machines. They are literally just a mid-person getting access to high ranking politicians that most people need a press pass for. It's like instead of Anderson Cooper doing his town hall and curating questions, a couple funny/entertaining audience members just spitball their own questions directly to them. It's a valuable discussion space where you end up with questions/tangents that aren't the same BS being asked over and over by each other source.
