I've had great bbq here from people's private smokers, but otherwise I've had pretty much the same experience as you. You'd think if there was a place in Canada that would have some top-shelf bbq, it would be here, but it doesn't seem like it. It doesn't exist anymore unfortunately but I thought that roadside BBQ place in Bragg Creek was pretty decent.
