Some CHL notes:

-First-time NHL Draft-eligibles, RW Cameron Schmidt of the Vancouver Giants and C Carter Bear of the Everett Silvertips, share the lead right now in WHL scoring with 12gp/12g/9a/21pts each. Both are tops in goal-scoring as well.
-C/W Nathan Behm is tied for 8th in WHL scoring, with 11gp/11g/7a/18pts,+5, 10 PIM, and tied for 2nd in goal-scoring.
-6'4" LW Lynden Lakovic (Sasha's nephew) is tied for 14th in WHL scoring, with 13gp/6g/10a/16pts,-5, 2 PIM.
-D Will Sharpe, recently given the rank of "C" by Central Scouting (indicating a potential 4th, or 5th-round pick), is the top first-time draft-eligible defenseman, with 11 points in 10 games for Lethbridge.
-6'3" D Jackson Smith of Tri-City, who many rank inside the first round, is tied for 21st in scoring by D (second for first-time eligible D) with 8 points in 10 games, along with 14 PIM. Another kid who looks like he's 30 years old.
-D Reese Hamilton has started poorly, with only 2 points, and a -5 in 10 games for the Hitmen.
-C/W Michael Misa, and RW Porter Martone are tied for second in OHL scoring with 22 points apiece (11 games-played for Misa, 10 for Martone)
-6'4" C Jack Nesbitt of the Spitfires is 15th in OHL scoring, with 11gp/8g/6a/14pts,+7, 9 PIM.
-LW Malcolm Spence of the Erie Otters, ranked early in the first round, is tied for 20th in OHL scoring with 11gp/5g/8a/13pts,+1, 6 PIM.
-The top draft-eligible D in the OHL scoring race is Cameron Reid of the Kitchener Rangers, who is ranked #17 by Button, with 12gp/2g/8a/10pts,+2, 12 PIM.
-In second spot for scoring by draft-eligible D in the OHL is Henry Brzustewicz, Hunter's brother, who has 9 points in 9 games. Next up is Barrie Colts' Kashawn Aitcheson, who sits 28th in scoring by D in the OHL, with 9gp/3g/3a/6pts,-1, 20 PIM. D Matthew Schaefer has only played 2 games, with 1 point.
-Looking at the QMJHL scoring race, the top first-time draft-eligible is 6'2" power-forward LW Bill Zonnon, tied for 6th in scoring with 13gp/6g/12a/18pts,+5, 8 PIM.
-After Zonnon is potential first-rounder, RW Justin Carbonneau, with 12gp/8g/9a/17pts,+3, 10 PIM, good enough to tie him at 12th in Q scoring.
-C Caleb Desnoyers has missed 4 games and sits in a tie for 51st in scoring with 10 points in 8 games.
-LW Emile Guite of Chicoutimi has had a rather disappointing start offensively, with only 8 points in 12 games.
