When you've got a high talent young player who takes big leaps forward, even if only for a few months, you have to run with it a bit.
Worst case scenario here, Lafreniere has established himself as a second liner and shows that he's willing to do lots of things that don't show up on the scoresheet.
Very little risk here and the potential for this contract to be a massive bargain. The Rangers killed it here IMO.
