Well that's where the problem is - Flames shouldn't be waiting until Andersson is a rental to move him if they want to get their best value for him.
If they think re-signing him is going to be tough / he's not open to re-signing then he should be moved before this trade deadline.
Gives the acquiring team at least two playoff runs with him, and generally a better opportunity to extend him. Doesn't mean you're getting a recent top 10 pick...but gives you a much better chance at a blue chip prospect / maximizing value.
