I don't get the impression that Conroy feels that 1st-round pick burning a hole in his pocket. It's in play in the right circumstances, but if he can keep it and use it, he will.
I wonder if he's looking at a partial hockey trade: a winger for an RHS centre, with a pick or prospect as an equalizer for the comparative value of the positions? That would make considerably more sense given the state of the team.
