Yes. I put several links of comparables into an email along with a very brief description.
I just went through a hail write off, and thanks to advice on this forum made sure I grabbed some better comparable and sent them off. Also advised of any recent work done or upgrades (I had just put on new tires). For 10 minutes of work I increased my ACV by several thousand.
Someone on here basically said, not that they are trying it screw your, but part of their job is to minimize the amount of the payout. They aren’t going to come to you at the top of their payout range. Basically their is no downside to trying to convince them that their estimate is on the low side and see what they come back with.
I wish I had known when my last car got written off in accident a number of years ago. I just accepted the number they gave me, but likely could’ve gotten some amount more just by essentially asking.
