I have to weigh in on this, as my summer Daily Driver is a 430hp '88 Mustang.

You can be 50 feet away from it and hear that it is a modified car. Is it meant for racing? Damn right it is. And its done lots of it. I go down to the Lethbridge Streetwheelers Weekend every year (www.streetwheelers.com). How does that give some cop the right to crush it for his own jollies? Because it 'might' be dangerous?

Smoking will kill you. So if you smoke, why dont we just cut the crap and kill you right now. Save a lot of time.

I agree with an earlier post, how is this even legal? If they crushed my car under this law when no crime has been committed I would have to take them to court over it, theres no option. This infinges upon our rights as citizens, as we would not be given our due process of law.

This is however, a very similar to a law in California (the law which this was likely modeled after) where the Police have the right to crush a car if it is: A) Caught Street Racing or B) Caught Running from Police.

See, a crime has been committed and a punishment is designated. No Problem. The Police arent paid or trained to pursue pre-emptive strikes.

I understand that this law is designed to operate by instilling the fear of having your car crushed, but thats not the way this works.

Laws are in place so that there is a well establied consequence for any given action. What that means, is that laws are designed to reduce if not eliminate ambiguity, this law does the opposite with its vague terms and broad powers granted.
