Yeah, I'm still not convinced his ROI is positive at that price. Especially with the holes they need to fill.

I don't think the Mets will be bidding against themselves. Soto has already won a title with WSH no matter how this WS goes.
Soto will go to the highest bidder. Having Vlad as a DR spokesman (they appear to be friends) won't hurt though.
Jays will have to overpay, no matter how good their facilities are or how well they treat players. They've wasted the last season and a half of a decent window and still spend a ton of money. When they wasted half a season in 2013, they came back and spent the next two seasons with Price and Tulo etc.
If it's $600M, my Rogers phone and cable bill will go up $10. Meh.
STH will get bent over if they really splash cash to Soto and others this offseason, but...

The other thing I read recently was the Jays interest in Bregman. I'd be moreso in favour of that given his position importance at 3rd. I suspect if they are able to get 2 marquee free agents then Bo will be dealt. I have super confidence in Bo given his past career, but economically I suspect his value as a young SS is very high despite an off year. Again, given the holes they need to fill, one of Vlad or Bo probably need to be dealt to get quality and quantity distribution.
