People aren't buying pop and chips there as often for budgetary reasons so they've increased the hot food they sell like chicken, pizza and low-grade hotdogs. You can get lunch for about $6 which is cheaper than most fast food places.

First of all....the gas stations are essentially killing themselves.

I dont even bother going in to the store.
Although I do like your use of the term 'Fresh-ish' that seems pretty accurate.
However, despite in-expensiveness, I dont eat 'gas station food.'
I've learned that lesson. The hard way.
