I’m glad Conroy acknowledged the cloud over the team last season. The open secret that many veterans were going to be sold off clearly affected the team’s morale and motivation.
That’s why there was reason to believe this season’s team wasn’t going to be nearly as bad as a lot of people assumed. There’s still a lot of skill in the lineup, and a lot of players - young and old- with something to prove. Cohesion and motivation can take a team a long way in this league.
