The whole barely playing center thing doesn't matter, he could be productive as a winger. Personally I don't know how productive he'll be in his late 30s, but I think we'll continue to see 40-50 goals and 90-100+ points for the next 4-5 years. There could be a huge season there, there could be a drop off season too but I think he'll continue to put up big numbers.

Will he be worth 14 million for those productive years? It's pretty tough to say, maybe not but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't know if 2024 is a good time to judge that, not yet. After a stagnant salary cap we've seen it rise by almost five million this summer; it's 88 million now and in 4-5 years it will be 100million plus. These 14 million a year monster contracts will be the new 10 million deals. Marner is next up in the monster contract and McDavid will set the bar. Where will Boeser as his 40 goals land?
