The bigger issue for me with Perry on that disallowed goal was him sweeping Vladar's feet with his stick before the shot was even made. He was obviously making intentional contact with the goalie to interfere with him.

I get the logic when it is incidental contact, if the goalie has enough time to reset, then it's fine. But if a player is purposely sweeping a goalie's feet with his stick to distract him or prevents him from getting set, it shouldn't be allowed.

To be fair, the NHL has not been consistent on these types of calls in the past, so I can see why a lot of people didn't expect the goal to get called back. As someone else mentioned, I would not be surprised if the league informed teams and instructed the officials to crack down on it.

The offside one was funny though. It was glaringly obvious that Arvidsson went offside and it should have been a stoppage. At first I thought that the officials wanted to let the Oilers get away with it and hoped the Flames wouldn't make another challenge. But then when the linesman blew down the empty net post as an icing, I am thinking they were just really off their game for some reason.
