What exactly has UNIFIL accomplished since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war that brings any sort of value to the region?

They’re supposed to be “peacekeepers” but are incapable of keeping any sort of peace.

They’ve been incapable of enforcing Resolution 1701, that was supposed to keep Hezbollah above the Litani River border area. They did nothing to enforce it. They’ve done nothing but watch while Hezbollah builds tunnels right under their nose that was also going to be used to attack Israel. They’ve done nothing to stop the buildup of Hezbollah’s terror bases in southern Lebanon. They’ve done nothing to stop the thousands of rockets that Hezbollah has attacked Israel with.

It’s an utter wasteful organization that essentially bleeds resources dry with absolutely zero results to show for it.
