In theory, the Flames two star forwards were supposed to be Kadri and Huberdeau. They just weren't playing like it. With the exception of Lindholm, the rest of them were replaceable type players.
The defence though? Losing Tanev, Hanifin, and Zadorov? That's not so easy to replace.
