I never remember hot October's being a thing in Calgary, but the last 3 years now we've had multiple 20+ degree days in mid October. Growing up in the Okanagan as a kid it was always warm enough on Halloween to be able to just go out in a costume, never had to worry about fitting it over a big jacket.
